Santa and the Mouse Ornament (freebie)

I've been stitching Santa and the Mouse Ornament, and here are before and after pics:

You can see the start of Santa's glove and sleeve, and the mouse is also starting to take a shape, but you need to use your imagination to fill in the missing gaps. I have a couple of updates coming, finally got around to taking some pictures of wip's I've stitched awhile ago.

Alemmasta kuvasta voi jo nähdä pukin rukkasen ja hihan hahmottumassa, sekä hiirenkin hahmon, jos hieman käyttää mielikuvitustaan. Minulla on pari päivitystä tulossa, viimeinkin sain aikaiseksi ottaa kuvia parista työstä, joita olen pistellyt.

I've been thinking of my New Year's resolutions and actually Evalina's great post (link) gave me a new aspect. What are the things I'd like to achieve in 2015, which would make a great difference to me? And (so far) I've come to conclusion that in 2015 I'd like to (when it comes to my hobbies)...

1. start and finish a HAED within a year (I've never tried or done it before)
2. get any of my big HAED's to over 50% completion
3. run 20km, nonstop (it would be a double what I can do now) or run 50km in a week (which would be a triple what I run now)

Olen miettinyt uudenvuoden lupauksia, oikeastaan Evalinan hienon postauksen innoittamana (linkki). Mitä sellaisia asioita haluaisin yrittää saavuttaa v.2015, joilla uskoisin olevan ns.suurempaa merkitystä, jos ei muuten niin ainakin minulle itselleni? Toistaiseksi olen tullut siihen tulokseen, että vuonna 2015 haluan (näin harrastusteni puolesta)...

1. pistellä HAED-mallin alusta loppuun vuoden aikana (en ole sitä koskaan aikaisemmin yrittänyt, saatika tehnyt)
2. pistellä mikä tahansa näistä isoista HAED-malleistani siihen vaiheeseen, että olen tehnyt 50% työstä
3. juosta 20km:n lenkki (joka on siis tuplasti se, mihin nyt pystyn) tai juosta 50km viikossa (joka on kolme kertaa enemmän kuin mitä juoksen tällä hetkellä)

I'm so thrilled that this page is done! The second page doesn't seem to be so challenging. I'm going to carry on stitching this one for two, three colour changes every day for the rest of the year.

Olen niin innoissani, että tämä sivu on nyt valmis! Toinen sivu ei vaikuta onneksi niin hankalalta. Jatkan tämän pistelyä kahden, kolmen värinvaihdon verran joka päivä loppuvuoden ajan.

I didn't have anything that was suitable for the season, so I decided to make a new start. And here's my progress after a week:

Minulla ei ollut yhtään työtä, joka sopisi joulun odotukseen, joten ajattelin aloittaa jotain uutta. Ja tämän verran sain viikossa aikaiseksi:

Percentage: 11.4%

I'll probably stitch this only for a month before Christmas every year, or that's my plan now. But I'm only a dozen stitches away from a page finish of SK Blue Moon, so the next update will be on her. And sorry to disappoint you, but I won't finish SHH Now before the year ends. She'll be my first finish in next year, hopefully in January or February.

Pistelen tätä varmaankin vain noin kuukauden verran ennen joulua vuosittain, tai ainakin nyt olen suunnitellut niin. Mutta SK Blue Moon-mallista tulee seuraava päivitys, olen lähes saanut ensimmäisen sivun valmiiksi. Ja ikävää tuottaa pettymys, mutta en aio pistellä SHH Now-mallia valmiiksi tämän vuoden puolella. Aion jättää työn valmistumisen ensi vuoteen, toivon mukaan saisin sen valmiiksi tammi-helmikuussa.

I've been stitching the queen of confetti for the past week (sorry the quality of the pic):

Completion percentage: 30,9%

I'm going to stitch her a little bit every day, just for three colour changes. She's the last goal of mine that haven't been completed, so hopefully I can get this first page (the goal) finished before the year ends. I've been thinking the rotation for the next year, so every wip would get some stitching time and thus progress (at least a little). I'm still playing with the thought, but maybe a five slot rotation would be best for me.

Aion pistellä tätä vähän joka päivä, noin kolme värinvaihtoa. Tämä on viimeinen tavoite tälle vuodelle, jota en ole vielä saavuttanut, joten toivottavasti saan tämän ensimmäisen sivun (tavoite) valmiiksi ennen vuoden vaihtoa. Olen myös miettinyt jo ensi vuotta, miten ajoittaisin näiden töiden vaihtumisen, jotta kaikkia tulisi pisteltyä ja sitä kautta jokainen edistyisi edes vähän. Mietiskelen sitä vielä, mutta olen päätymässä siihen, että jakaisin näitä töitä viiteen eri kategoriaan, joita sitten vaihtelisin.

World Travel Book Shelf

I've become soooo lazy when it comes with taking progress pictures, sorry. I finally finished the first (confetti loaded) page of World Travel Book Shelf (large).

Minusta on tullut niiiin laiska näiden töiden kuvaamisen suhteen, sori! Sain viimeinkin ensimmäisen (haastavan) sivun valmiiksi World Travel Book Shelf-mallista (tämä on se mega-versio).

You can actually see the hand of the dancer in the lower left hand corner, if you look closely. I've decided to figure out all the percentages of all of my wip's from now on, to get a better idea where I am with every project, instead of pages. I've stitched 1,05% so far on this... It will be a slow journey, but who cares for speed, lol! :)

Tästä voi jo nähdä tanssijan käden vasemmasta alakulmasta, jos katsoo tarkkaan. Päätin laskea tästä lähtien jokaisen projektin prosenttiosuuden, jotta saisin paremman kuvan siitä, missä vaiheessa olen missäkin projektissa menossa, siis sivujen sijaan. Tästä olen pistellyt 1,05% tähän mennessä... Hitaasti edetään, mutta kuka siitä vauhdista niin välittää, heh! :)

QS Seasons 2

Here's my progress after a month:

I've stitched 21,4% so far and the completion date with this pace would be 11th February. But I'm going to take a week off, the confetti and colours are really starting to bug me.

Olen pistellyt nyt 21,4% tästä mallista ja tällä vauhdilla tämä tulisi valmiiksi 11.helmikuuta. Mutta aion laittaa tämän nyt viikoksi tauolle, koska jatkuva värinvaihto ja värimaailma alkaa pikkuhiljaa tympäistä.

I've done 14,7% so far and with this pace the completion date would be 7th January.

Olen pistellyt nyt 14,7% tästä työstä, tällä vauhdilla saisin tämän valmiiksi 7.tammikuuta.

I worked on her for three weeks and managed to finish her face. I watched Doctor Who's previous seasons and she reminds me a little bit of Amy with her red hair so I named her after her :)

Pistelin tätä noin kolme viikkoa ja sain kasvot valmiiksi. Katselin samaan aikaan Doctor Who:n aikaisempia kausia ja tämä malli muistutti vähän Amy-henkilöhahmoa punaisine hiuksineen, joten aloin mielessäni kutsua tätä samalla nimellä :)

As you probably know, all charts by Nene Thomas will be retired in 15th October. And because she's in my top5 list as a favourite HAED artists, I just had to get "some" while they are still available. (I already have Deidre, Lullaby, Swan Song, QS Moon Amethyst and SK Winter Wings.) And these I got (so far, haha!):

QS Seasons 2

Thanks for your compliments to my last post and finish! :)

I never thought of taking so long break from blogging, but before I noticed a week has turned into two weeks, then three, four and so on. And the whole September went without any update, sorry. But I've been stitching during this time though, so quite massive progress has been made. But I'll get to them in the next updates, as well as the charts I've purchased recently.

Kiitoksia kohteliaisuuksista viime postaukseeni ja valmiiseen työhön liittyen! :) 

Enpä koskaan ajatellut pitää näin pitkää taukoa bloggaamisessa, mutta ennen kuin huomasinkaan oli viikon tauko muuttunut kahdeksi, sitten kolmeksi, neljäksi ja niin edelleen. Ja niinpä koko syyskuu meni ilman päivityksiä, pahoitteluni siitä. Mutta olen kuitenkin pistellyt tänä aikana, ja saanutkin melko paljon aikaan. Mutta palaan niihin seuraavissa päivityksissä, kuten myös malleihin joita olen viime aikoina ostellut.

HAED: QS Seasons 2

My mom was recently in a big surgery where everything didn't go well. There were unexpected things, so the operation extended really long. Consequently, her right arm was paralysed after she regained consciousness from anesthesia. It has something to do with the nerves in her hand, they aren't fully damaged but somehow hurt. She can use the arm a little bit by now, there has been some improvement and the arm isn't disabled anymore. Though nobody can promise anything, whether the arm will fully recover in the long run or not. But she got the results of the surgery yesterday and there were more bad news. She has a cancer. There's very little I can do for her, considering I live hundreds of kilometres away. So I picked this QS Seasons 2 from my stash and started it today. I've never stitched (during these five, six years I've been stitching) anything for her, so I thought I better change that while I still have a chance.

Äitini oli hiljattain isossa leikkauksessa, jossa kaikki ei mennyt suunnitelmien mukaan. Tästä johtuen leikkaus venyi pitkäksi ja kun äitini heräsi nukutuksesta oli hänen oikea kätensä halvaantunut. Kyse on käden hermoista, jotka eivät ole kokonaan tuhoutuneet mutta jollain tavoin kuitenkin vioittuneet. Hän voi jo käyttää kättään jonkin verran, eikä käsi ole enää onneksi kokonaan toimintakyvytön, joten edistystä on tapahtunut. Mutta kukaan ei tietenkään voi luvata, että toipuuko käsi koskaan ennalleen vai ei. Eilen kuitenkin tulivat leikkauksen tulokset, joiden mukana tuli lisää huonoja uutisia; hänellä on syöpä. Meillä on välimatkaa useampi sata kilometri, joten mahdollisuuteni toimia tässä tilanteessa ovat hyvin rajalliset. Päädyinkin kaivelemaan kätköistäni tämän QS Seasons 2-mallin, jonka myös aloitin nyt illasta. En ole koskaan pistellyt hänelle mitään (siis tämän viiden, kuuden vuoden aikana kun olen pistellyt), joten nyt on korkea aika tehdä niin kun minulla vielä on siihen mahdollisuus.
